Building Procedures Exceed Energy Star Ratings

Energy Star

Site Boring – 2 test holes bored to 20 feet. Core samples are sent to a lab to analyze soil content foot by foot.

Soil Analysis – Test results along with house plans are given to a foundation engineer. He then designs a foundation for each specific pad site.

Site Preparation – Pad site cleared and leveled, clearing only area of foundation, saving all trees and vegetation surrounding pad. If fill is used, it will be compacted and a compaction test performed. Compaction must be 95% to pour foundation.

Slab Pour – Foundation forms are set, beams, footings and piers dug to engineer specifications. Plumbing rough in, 6 mil plastic laid, steel placed, electrical conduit placed, slab inspection and pour.

Framing – All walls assembled on site and erected to meet or exceed all building codes.

Windows Installed – Energy efficient vynle low E2 or better, U-factor .36 or better, SHGC .28 or better.

Wind Bracing – Simpson steel strong ties used on all corners and stress points to insure wall stability. 1" polystyrene sheathing around entire structure, 2" structural foam sprayed in all exterior wall cavities to increase racking strength 200%.

Roof – Radiant barrier on all decking, continuous ridge vents on all major ridges, continuous soffit vents on all flat soffits, gable vents on all gables, 30 pound felt, all valleys flashed with metal flashing and 30 year guaranteed shingles.

Insulation – 1" polystyrene sheathing on entire wall structure R-7. 2" structural foam sprayed in all exterior wall cavities R-14. Total insulating exterior walls R-21. Attic 2" structural foam sprayed in attic R-14, cellulose 10" blown in on top of foam to R-28. Total R-42 for attic.

Heating & Cooling – We install a minimum of 14 SEER A.C. with a 90 AFUE rated heat pump system. These units offer greater efficiency and lower cost for heating and cooling your home.
